Computer Service Technician

Job Description

Since 1979, Texas Cash Register of Longview has provided East Texas with state-of-the-art Point of Sales(POS) systems and best in class service. Our clients include high profile, multi-unit restaurants; as well as single owner type businesses and retail stores. Our mission is to provide our clients with exciting new POS technology and managed services to make their businesses become more efficient and profitable.  

We currently have a position available for a Computer Service Technician. Your duties will include staging, installing, training, and supporting our client's Point of Sale systems through on-site visits, or remote access. We are looking for an energetic, highly reliable, intelligent person who is organized and can communicate well with our clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills in a Windows and iOS network environment. 

Responsibilities:
  • Point of Sale staging, programming, installs, and support.
  • Loading and transport of Point of Sale systems to and from sites.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs of POS systems; on site and/or in office.
  • Maintaining on-board part inventory.
  • Documentation and processes related to the ordering and movement of parts.
  • Proper recording of serial numbers and hardware information for deployed devices.
  • Care and control of the company vehicle and ensuring maintenance is up to date.
  • Communicate and resolve issues with merchants both onsite and over the phone.

  • Physically fit – able to lift 50lbs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, and be able to bend/twist.

  • Flexible and adaptable to meet business demands and to handle change.
  • Professional conduct and appearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with IP networking and protocols.
  • Knowledge of restaurant/retail operations
  • Self-motivated, able to meet deadlines, well organized.
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work constructively and cooperatively within the team to resolve issues.
  • Reacts well to change.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, technologies, and techniques.
Education Requirements:
Associates Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
